We’ve been granted official 501(c)(3) non-profit status!…and we need your support.

The Perros Project has recently received tax exempt status becoming an official nonprofit in what we feel is record time from the IRS (6 weeks!). As a result, we are happy to say that all donations to our work are now tax deductible.

Currently, we’re more than halfway to our goal of raising $5,000! But we need your help to get there.

The plan is to offer spay & neutering, de-worming, flea & tick medication and free leashes & collars to 100 dogs living in Huanchaco. Most of these animals are loosely connected to homes and families in the region, but their basic needs are not being met. Our estimated cost to this per dog is $30.

Can you help us by sponsoring 1 or 2 dogs?

We pledge to put your money to good use and send photos of the dogs you sponsor.

To make a secure donation through PayPal (you do not need an account) click HERE.

Or send a check payable to “The Perros Project” at 806 NE Going St, Portland, OR 97211.

Your donations will go directly to the dogs, the shelter improvement, and subsidizing the airfare for our great volunteer vets and construction supervisor.

Thank You!

~ ~ ~

The Perros Project has had a lot of heartwarming stories coming in lately.

The total stranger (Nikki) who saw our poster in a Starbucks and is now arranging a company softball game with the proceeds going to the Perros Project.

The other total stranger (Holli) who saw the same poster and is talking to a travel agent TODAY to try and join us!.

The two children of a good friend (Lisa) taking portions of their allowance to help sponsor a dog.

Our great friend Emily who said “I write this check as an action I can do to help animals when there are so many times I feel I can do nothing.”.

~ ~ ~

Prepping to go. Perros Project volunteers spent a recent Sunday afternoon learning how to take vital signs from dogs and check their general health. We are also in the midst of getting vaccinations, securing hostal rooms and finalizing plans with the Peruvian veterinary clinic. It is all very exciting!
